In 2021, I started my journey into minimalism.

It didn’t start in a beautiful, aesthetic way.
It actually started from a place of overwhelm.

During the pandemic, I found myself turning to shopping as a coping mechanism. It was a form of escapism, something that gave me a quick sense of control and comfort during a time when everything felt uncertain.

But over time, I realized something hard:

All that “stuff” wasn’t adding value to my life.
It was adding noise.

One misconception about minimalism is that it means blank walls and empty shelves.

That’s not what intentional living looks like in our home.

It looks like:

One wall full of framed prints of cherished memories.
Yearly photo books stored together on a shelf.
Updated family photo each year.

Not dozens.
Not overwhelming.
Just intentional.

Children aren’t expected to sit perfectly still or smile on command.

Photographing extended families is incredibly meaningful — and also requires thoughtful planning. Many families wonder if shorter sessions provide enough time for large group photos.
